Rick Hobbs Photography
Rick Hobbs is an international award-winning photographer specializing in nature & wildlife images. Rick's interest in nature & wildlife has spanned a lifetime and he uses photography as a way of expressing his love and respect for his subjects. Rick's goal is to create photographs that inspire and emotionally stimulate the viewer.
Rick says, "The best thing about being a photographer is that you have the opportunity to be in the field to observe a small part of what nature has to offer". Creating great photographs is nice, however, he believes it is the experience of being there that matters most. He understands he is truly blessed to be able to do something that he loves and Rick hopes to pass on a little bit of each experience for others to enjoy.
Rick's work as a full-time freelance photographer and writer has appeared in books, magazines, newspapers, calendars, greeting cards, galleries, corporate offices, and has been featured in a national advertising campaign. He has also participated in the creation of several television programs showing and discussing how to photograph wildlife.
His photographs have been featured in numerous publications including calendars for Audubon, Artisan, Time Factory, magazines such as Outdoor Photographer, Nature Photographer, Nature Friend and The Trail Rider, books published by Capstone Press, Compass Point Books and Zaner-Bloser, newspapers such as the Minneapolis Star Tribune, television programs created for Georgia Public Television, The Environmental Journal, Animal Planet and The Discovery Channel. Some of Rick's corporate clients include Sprint Publishing & Advertising, Best Buy Company and Linhoff Photo. His work is also marketed through various stock agencies.
At Christmas time Rick donated hundreds of his framed "Freedom" prints to all the veterans at the Walsenburg Veterans Nursing Home in Colorado so each veteran could have one for their rooms. Rick's "Freedom" print is used in a regional television advertisement that has run regularly for years, his images are displayed on a local television station from time to time, and Rick has completed his 5th book project showcasing his work.
Rick runs a stock photography business and delivers slide programs for various groups or organizations such as The Boy Scouts of America, HealthPartners and Camera Clubs. He regularly leads photography tours and field workshops to a variety of great locations producing wonderful photo opportunities for the participants.
